 Somerset County Council
is working with the five district councils to promote good health and support the development of high quality health and social care services.
All six local authorities work with Somerset Health Authority and other NHS agencies to:
- Develop the Annual Health Improvement Programme
(in our News & Information section)
- Assess the needs of local people - including a joint Health and Social Needs
- Analyse projects to identify deprivation in the county and target resources on communities in greatest need.
- Improve the health and well being of local people by improving the environment, encouraging healthy lifestyles, preventing accidents and supporting local and national health campaigns.
