Welcome to the Somerset Primary Care Trust website
Somerset Primary Care Trust is responsible for addressing the health needs of people who live in the county of Somerset. We provide some of these services ourselves by employing our own teams of nurses and allied health professionals, treating patients in their own homes and in our community hospitals.
Somerset Primary Care Trust also buys NHS services from other primary health care professionals such as GPs, dentists, pharmacists and opticians, based in their own premises (surgeries, dental practices, high street pharmacies and opticians).
Somerset Primary Care Trust also buys health care services for our patients from general hospitals, mental health trusts and commercial healthcare providers. We work closely with Adult Social Care (Social Services), Somerset County Council, district councils, schools, other public sector and not-for-profit organisations.
